TRANSLATIONAL RESEARCH NETWORKING EVENT
On Friday, March 28th, Kuopio Brain & Mind hosted the Translational Research Networking event, where researchers, doctors, and other experts came together to hear and discuss ongoing translational research projects and reflect on how we can foster better and more successful collaborations between different disciplines.
At the event, our speakers presented their ongoing translational research projects they are part of and participated in a very interesting panel discussion about how collaborations between different experts can be improved.
Mikko Hiltunen talked about the Applications of Translational medicine in early-stage Alzheimer’s disease research and the importance of successful collaboration.
Reetta Kälviäinen and Alejandra Sierra Lopez gave a very interesting presentation on the Multiscale assessment of epileptogenicity.
Aino-Kaisa Piironen gave an inspirational presentation about Biological adolescent psychiatry.
Tarja Malm presented the Neuro-innovation doctoral and NOVEL MSCA postdoctoral programs and talked about how they encourage a more multidisciplinary approach to research.
After some afternoon coffee and networking, our host, Piritta Parkkari, hosted a workshop. Our participants were invited to split into smaller groups and have meaningful discussions about their experiences with translational research, any challenges they may have faced, and what can be done to overcome those challenges in the future.
Our warmest thank you to this event’s speakers, co-organizers and participants!
