The Mind and Matter profiling action of the University of Helsinki and the Academy of Finland (2019–2024) is an interdisciplinary research programme that explores the question of the mind and its relation with matter, under the three research areas of intelligence, consciousness, and information. The headline conference of this research programme will take place in Helsinki on 6–8 June 2023.
The conference is structured around six sessions: five hosted by the fellows of the Mind and Matter research programme, with the themes of
- Minds with Language,
- Dreaming and Consciousness,
- Motivation and Cognitive Control,
- Crossdisciplinary Influences in the Study of the Mind, and
- Perception,
and a sixth poster session (see call for papers). Each session will include three talks from international experts on the theme, followed by a panel discussion.
