The seminar will be given by guest speaker Professor Barbara Canlon with the topic The wild nightlife of the auditory system.
Barbara Canlon, PhD, is Professor of Hearing Physiology at the Karolinska Institute. She had her MSc degree from Michigan University and did her postdoctoral studies at the Institute Pasteur Paris, with Professor Jean-Pierre Changeux and at the CNRS-INSERM, Montpellier, France, with Professor Joel Bockaert.
Professor Canlon’s research interests include auditory neurobiology, molecular mechanisms underlying hearing loss and identifying innovative protective strategies, and long-term and short-term stress physiology and epidemiology in relation to hearing impairment. She is particularly interested how the circadian system regulates cochlear sensitivity and integrates inflammation and glucocorticoid actions.
The seminar is open to all and there is no need to register.
